Patent.... on Wed Feb 26 16:46:38 2003 by matt
I would like to know how the Patent office defines a invention. It seems today you can patent anything you want to, i.e. amazon.com has patented using the web to discuss an item for sale.http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6,525,747.WKU.&OS=PN/6,525,747&RS=PN/6,525,747 ... I see no invention there. It seems you can get away with a patent on anything you want, no matter how vague it is. Why don't we patent 'using a mouse pointer to control a computer' or something similar :).

Updates? on Mon Feb 24 22:06:03 2003 by matt
Well, it's been a while. but i have started updating the site a little bit... The index shtml doc is being replaced with a cgi, which will allow me to get rid of all of the redirects, i.e. when logging on. Now, when you login, it reloads the page and you are logined, rather then redirecting you from the login script. If you have any suggestions please post them here.

Server troubles? on Mon Feb 3 14:48:43 2003 by matt
In the event that the server (irc.semicolon-zero.com) is not functioning properly, we can use irc.liek.net, which is currently 'liek.homeip.net'.

DALNET back? on Sat Feb 1 22:04:32 2003 by matt
IT appears DALNet is not as dead as we thought (hoped). As of now it has over 20,000 users, but only has about 20 servers. Lets see how long till it is attacked. :)
